Jeanne-Mance Dragons beat rival St-Laurent Express! 3peat??

The D1 finals rematch saw Jeanne-Mance Dragons defeat Saint-Laurent in an 82-69 win.

A hard nose game was expected out of the two teams and they delivered. Apart from it being a rematch of last years finals, the amount of no-calls by the referee's got them even more riled up, mostly in the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter was the opposite. Both teams got into foul trouble early in the quarter, combined with sloppy play from both squads, made it an ugly quarter. The fast pace game led to many turnovers. The Dragons got the lead by hitting a couple three's and getting easy points in transition. It was more of the same during the contest until the 4th quarter, which was a bit scary at first.

Stephane Bassele Bosseko, from Express, banged his head hard against the wall after being fouled on a layup attempt on the fastbreak. Fortunately, he got up and was fine. From that point on, Saint-Laurent played hard and tried to cut a huge deficit (73-52 at the end of the 3rd quarter). They kept Jeanne-Mance scoreless until the 5 minute mark. The Dragons let them cut the lead to 9 points twice, but they did not let them get any closer than that and eventually got the win.
